The TRA Alumni Association is reviving an old TRA Tradition… the Spaghetti Supper and Basketball Games! It will be held on Saturday, March 8th in the High School Cafeteria and the Middle School Gymnasium. The elementary and middle school students will play intramural basketball games in the gym beginning at approximately 2:00 pm. The Varsity vs. Alumni Basketball games will begin at 7:00 pm. Be sure to invite your friends and family to come watch your favorite Rebel play ball!
The Spaghetti Supper will be served from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. Plates will consists of homemade spaghetti, bread, slaw, dessert and drink. Adult plates are $7.00 and Student plates are $4.00 and must be pre-purchased. If you have not purchased your tickets please contact the TRA Alumni Association as soon as possible. Light concessions will be available in the middle school from 2:00 – 8:00 pm.
An admission fee of $1.00 per person will be charged at the door, children 3 and under will be admitted free. Every admission ticket purchased will serve as an entry for the drawings for two $100 “TRA Mini-Scholarship” door prizes to be given by the TRA Alumni Association. These mini-scholarships may be used toward any child’s tuition at TRA or any other TRA account.
The Alumni Association awards several mini-scholarships throughout the year at events such as football and basketball homecoming games, Grandparent’s Day, and the Spaghetti Supper. The winner of the $100.00 mini-scholarship drawing at Varsity Basketball Homecoming was Denise McDow. The next mini-scholarships to be given away will be at the Spaghetti Supper on March 8th and at Grandparent’s Day on March 14th.
Please remember as the school year progresses, that time is quickly passing for your elementary or middle school student to gain service hours for the alumni sponsored Community Service Program. The deadline to turn in the completed forms is April 15, 2008. If you need information and instructions on the project please look on the school’s web site, under Alumni, a link is provided at the bottom of the page. There is also a form located there that can be printed out to record the hours of service. The participating students will receive recognition at the annual Awards Day program.
We would like to keep the TRA Alumni and other former TRA students that attend Union University in our prayers. Several students suffered minor injuries and lost many of their personal belongings in the storms in Jackson, TN. Thank God for keeping them safe!
