TRA Alumni Association has gotten off to a great start for the 2007-2008 school year! At the Annual Meeting held on September 17th, new officers and board members were elected and several new projects were implemented. We currently have 78 members of the association including both alumni and parents of alumni.
If you have not joined the association and would like to do so, please mail your dues ($35 single / $45 couple) to TRA Alumni Association, 8696 Rosemark Road, Millington, TN 38053. Please remember those alumni parents of Junior and Senior students must be association members for your child to be eligible for the Alumni Scholarship!
Also, if you would like to make a contribution to the Mrs. Gail Davidson Memorial Fund, it can be mailed to the same address. This fund supports the Gail Davidson Memorial Scholarship as well as a contribution to be made in her memory to the new high school building fund.
The Alumni Association would like to thank TRA, and all who helped, for providing the wonderful meal and program for the alumni gathering held at football homecoming. We had a great turnout, over 200 people attended, and everyone had an excellent time. It was great to get together with so many of our alumni families. We hope that this event may be the beginning of a new tradition here at TRA.
The TRA Alumni have been very generous this year! Thirty-three Alumni families have contributed to the building fund totaling approximately $230, 000. That is roughly 36% of total contributions to the fund. Way to go alumni!
Please remember as the holiday season approaches, that it may be an excellent time for your elementary or middle school student to gain service hours for the alumni sponsored Community Service Program. If you need information and instructions on the project please look on the school’s web site, under Alumni, a link is provided at the bottom of the page. There is also a form located there that can be printed out to record the hours of service. The participating students will receive recognition at the annual Awards Day program.
The Alumni Association is selling t-shirts featuring a design of all four school buildings, including renderings of the new high school and elementary renovation. They are on a light heather gray shirt with the design in navy. Long sleeve shirts are $15 and short sleeve shirts are $10. Email traalumni@bellsouth.net if you would like an order form. The funds raised from the sale of these shirts will fund our programs and scholarships. Did you know that we awarded $3,400 in scholarships last year?
